The work Rising by Alberto Pancorbo accompanies the absolute premiere of the cantata Evohé
The fusion between painting and music reaches a new dimension with the premiere of “Evohé”, a choral work by the prestigious composer Víctor Rebullida Adiego, commissioned by the International Days of Choral Singing in Aragon on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Coral Vientos del Pueblo of Ciudad de Borja.
As a visual accompaniment to this event, the painting “Resurging” has been chosen, one of the most symbolic and evocative creations of the internationally recognized artist Alberto Pancorbo.
Alberto Pancorbo: the painter of the dreamlike and the eternal
Born in Soria in 1956, Alberto Pancorbo is one of the most representative figures of contemporary Spanish magical realism. His painting, with its impeccable technique and almost mystical detail, combines the human and the spiritual in a visual language that transcends time.
Based in the Americas for decades, Pancorbo has developed a prolific career with exhibitions in galleries and museums across Europe, the United States, and Latin America. His style, unmistakable for its enveloping light, ethereal faces, and symbolic atmospheres, has made him a leading figure in international figurative art.

Re-emerging , the vine as a symbol of life and creation
In Resurgiendo (Resurging) , Pancorbo condenses his most intimate vision: a female figure emerging from roots and bunches of grapes, in a metamorphosis between nature and spirit. The work embodies rebirth, fertility, and the connection between earth and soul, transforming matter into visual poetry.
The choice of this painting could not be more significant. The grape and the vine, universal symbols of celebration and transformation, are directly linked to the wine-making and cultural identity of Borja, a city historically tied to wine and artistic creation.
The work, belonging to the private Gaudifond Arte collection and donated to the Borja City Council, reinforces the commitment of this collection to the dissemination of contemporary art and the enrichment of public heritage.
Evohé , the song to creative passion
Awarded with prizes such as the Queen Sofia Composition Prize, the prize from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando and the Joaquín Turina Prize from the Seville City Council, Víctor Rebullida Adiego is one of the most outstanding voices in contemporary Spanish music.
With Evohé , the composer pays homage to the vital impulse and creative energy that reside in nature and in humankind. In this premiere, his music It engages with Pancorbo's work, shaping a total artistic experience, where sound and image merge into one spirit.
Borja, land of wine, art and spirit
The encounter between Resurgiendo and Evohé transcends artistic collaboration: it is a celebration of Borja's identity as a territory of wine, art and culture.
Both works, one pictorial and the other musical, draw from the same symbolic source: the vine as an expression of life, transformation and passion.
