Gervasio Gallardo (Barcelona, 1934–2023) enjoyed an international career as a painter and illustrator. After working in advertising agencies in Spain, Paris, and Munich, he settled in the United States as a freelance illustrator. In 1969, he was commissioned to design the covers for a series of books by renowned science fiction authors, thus establishing himself in the publishing and art world. His style blends magical realism, fantasy, and refinement.
