The Woman | Jose Marí Llobet
José Marí Llobet (Valencia, 1938 - Barcelona, 2022) trained at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts and was a member of the “Estampa Popular” group before moving to Barcelona, where he established his figurative style. Distinguished from both the hyperrealism influenced by the United States and the critical realism of Valencian collectives, Marí developed his own unique language, characterized by energetic brushstrokes and the emotional intensity of the human figure. His career includes public sculptures for the city of Munich, murals in Zaragoza and San Sebastián, and set designs for the Valencia Chamber Theatre.
In La Femme, Marí embodies the warrior woman, with a vital presence, firm stance and character
transformative. His works bring drive, determination, and a combative spirit that imbues the whole with a profoundly human energy.
