Collection: Carles Planell ┃ Contemporary Work

Carles Planell was a key figure in the Spanish avant-garde of the second half of the 20th century and a member of Grupo Sílex, along with Joan Hernández Pijuán, Josep Maria Rovira-Brull, and Eduard Alcoy. His work is distinguished by rigorous research into form, space, and structure, articulated through compositions of precise, almost mathematical cuts.

Inspired by the geometric principles of Luca Pacioli, a collaborator of Leonardo da Vinci, Planell developed a language where volume, proportion, and balance are combined with the presence of figures and objects charged with enigmatic symbolism.

His international career includes exhibitions at the Venice Biennale, the Guggenheim Museum in New York, and institutions such as the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía, consolidating his position in contemporary art.
