Collection: Enrique Trullenque ┃ Abstract Expressionist Work
Enrique Trullenque is a leading figure in 20th-century Aragonese abstract painting. His deeply expressionistic work is characterized by intense gestural brushwork, a solid compositional structure, and a palette dominated by blacks, whites, and reds of great symbolic significance.
Influenced by Goya's dramatic power, Trullenque developed a pictorial language where color becomes emotional matter and a vehicle for protest. The broad and energetic brushstrokes, along with the chromatic tension, generate compositions of powerful visual presence and high expressive impact.
Throughout his career, he held over eighty exhibitions in Spain and in countries such as Sweden, Germany, and Norway. His work is part of more than twenty European museums, including the Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofía.
Today, Enrique Trullenque's painting represents a solid opportunity for collectors seeking Spanish expressive abstraction with institutional backing and historical projection.

Biography
Alcañiz, 1951-1990. Enrique Trullenque was selected to participate in the XII National Course of Artistic Orientation in Madrid, in 1969. On the occasion of this trip he met the art critic Carlos Areán and Pablo Serrano , beginning a deep friendship between the three a few years later.
From 1970 onwards, Enrique Trullenque was part of the El Casetón group with other young local artists who were concerned with promoting their work in the Bajo Aragón region. After a naturalist phase, Trullenque embraced an expressionist style—Goya was one of his obsessions—a raw, socially conscious style. As with other artists of his generation, his encounter with American Abstract Expressionism and French painting proved decisive. In Enrique Trullenque's most characteristic paintings, imbued with broad gestural expression, color, generally vibrant, plays a key role. Some canvases can be interpreted purely abstractly. Behind most of the paintings, however, one can discern a lyrically recreated landscape: that of Lower Aragon, where his hometown is located, whose towers and domes also make an appearance. In 1972, Enrique Trullenque was appointed a Member of the Institute for the Conservation of New Art in Oslo, Norway, and a year later he undertook a study trip to Italy thanks to a grant awarded to him in the Third Call for Proposals for the Castellblanch Art Endowment. In 1974, he was awarded the Bronze Medal at the 13th Franco-Spanish Salon in Talence (Bordeaux). In the same year, he created a mural for the new Casino in Alcañiz and began negotiations for the Pablo Serrano Foundation to establish its headquarters in the city. In 1978, he staged a happening with the dancer Renée Johansson in Alcañiz. He also created several panels for the Alcañiz Community and the mural panel for the hospital chapel.
From the 1980s onwards, Enrique Trullenque participated in the editions of the Carpeta,
He designed and laid out the cover for the magazine Andalán , where José Antonio Labordeta and Emilio Gastón, among others, collaborated, and created book illustrations and screen prints. He was appointed a member of the Advisory Committee for Visual Arts of the Government of Aragon and of the Jury for the “IV Aragon Prize”. Enrique Trullenque continued working in the field of design, creating illustrations for the book
coordinated by Roberto Godoy Calatayud and his region, the book by Darío Vidal Seven Aragonese essays and an apocryphal one, that of Francisco Javier Sáenz Guallar and in the Heraldo de Aragón, etc.
In 1989, in his role as Advisor to the Teruel Museum, Enrique Trullenque promoted the development of contemporary art activities and wrote "Painting as One Lives," in the anthology *Painters in Aragon*. In 1991, he was posthumously awarded the Medal for Cultural Merit by the Government of Aragon and the Cross of Saint George by the Provincial Council of Teruel.
