Known for his work in hyperrealism, Gonzalo Morales Suárez was one of Costa Rica's most influential painters of the second half of the 20th century. His works, particularly his figurative watercolors, have been exhibited forty-five times in the United States, Spain, and Latin America, and are held in museums, galleries, and government offices in various countries.
