In El tiempo (Time), Gervasio Gallardo proposes a visual metaphor as simple as it is unsettling: a pocket watch partially wrapped in orange peel, suspended over a still aquatic horizon. The fusion between mechanical object and organic matter suggests that time is not an abstract entity, but something that is consumed, wears down, and transforms, like the fruit itself. The open peel functions as a threshold between the measurable and the ephemeral.

In line with Surrealism, Gallardo transforms the everyday into a symbol, inviting an intimate reflection on transience, perception, and the inevitability of the passage of time.
