Collection: Carlos Ferreyra

Carlos Ferreyra (Santa Fe, Argentina, 1937–2019) was a self-taught painter and draftsman whose work holds a prominent place in Latin American figurative and symbolic art. After an initial period marked by abstraction and the influence of pre-Columbian art, he developed a deeply personal language centered on the human figure, where popular characters, musicians, peasants, and scenes from daily life become protagonists of highly expressive and chromatically rich compositions.

His artistic career was closely linked to Latin America, especially Guatemala, a country where he consolidated his career after traveling through the United States and Mexico. Over five decades, he exhibited in international galleries and fairs in the Americas and Europe, building a body of work recognized for the quality of its drawing, the intensity of its color, and a profoundly humanistic perspective.
